LB PROUD FESTIVAL
LB Proud! Fest is more than just a queer celebration; it is an event that acknowledges the history of the fight for equality, gives back to the community, and supports the queer businesses and talent that have been in the city all along. By activating the neighborhoods for this event, LB Living brings the beauty of the community to our front doors and creates a safe space of peace, acceptance, and solidarity.
Here are multiple events that we as the International Imperial Court of Long Beach attended or put on for the community.

FRIDAY - MAY 19, 2023
We kicked off our LB Proud weekend at the Long Beach LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce mixer event from 5:00pm to 7:00pm supporting businesses in our community. We got to connect with the members from the Port of Long Beach, our Vice Mayor Cindy Allen, LB Proud creators Sal Flores-Trimble & Dan O’Brien and many more. It’s always great to mix and mingle with other businesses and organizations talking about what we do as an organization is what we can do to educate and come together to help others in need.
We then went to another event from 7:00pm to 9:30pm called the Tiny Gay-chella that donated all of its proceeds to the Long Beach Imperial Court. Always grateful for others that want to collaborate and help us to help others in need. Coming together enjoying a night of live music and local bands to help give back is what community is all about. Thank you to Esteven Gamez for putting this on and doing all that you do for us!
SATURDAY - MAY 20, 2023
LB PROUD FESTIVAL main event day was just beyond a success! We had an activation in the festival from 11:00am to 6:30pm that was for the family friendly area. Our activation included making paper crowns, photo opportunity with the royals and our throne, DRAG storybook reading for the kids and families, and of court education on what our court does and who we are as an organization. The community was just so grateful and happy to see that what we do as organization truly helps not those in need but spreads the love and positive joy to others. Thank you so much to our story book readers Empress 46 Mia Anastasia Farrow, Dita Vodka, Robbie Osa, and of course our Elected Empress 52 Sah’Shey Aaliyah Couture. Seeing the kids enjoy the stories and be so interactive was everything we could ask for. Thank you to the parents for being amazing! It’s inspiring to us as an organization to be a part of your community.
SUNDAY - MAY 21, 2023
The closer of the weekend was the annual BIG GAY BEACH TAKEOVER. What a way to close out this eventful weekend of celebrating our community from 12:00pm to 6:30pm. Thank you to the AFS AIDS Food Store and the Frontrunners of Long Beach for putting on an event that benefits the Long Beach Imperial Court. The SHANTAY 1K was such a fun event to watch as our very own Elected Emperor 52 Joey Byrne participated and ran on behalf of our court. Congratulations to the winners and to those that help put this together (Taka Kaguma, Sabreena-Butch Keeling, Rod Cabradilla Dizor, and Assaf Weinberg). Looking forward to what you have in-store for this event next year. Thank you to all the community coming out and cheering us on and what a fun filled day it was!
