In 2017, Joey auditioned for the Orange County Gay Men’s Chorus. He was accepted, and used it as a way to come out as a Gay man to his parents. During this time, Joey also started exploring the leather community. He ran for Mr Long Beach Leather 2018. He placed first runner up, and learned a lot on that journey of who he is. In 2020, Eagle562 appointed him Mr Eagle562 Leather 2020, and used the platform to show that the leather community is more than just sex.
When COVID hit, he was invested into the International Imperial Court of Long Beach as an Imperial Prince during Reign 49. In 2021, he ran and was elected for Mr Gay Pride Long Beach raising over $4000 for the United Waves Scholarship Fund. He was also invested as an Imperial Crown Prince in Reign 50. For Reign 51, he was invested as Imperial Crown Prince Royale. He has served on the Board of Directors since reign 50, as a general member and Vice President. In 2022, he was voted by the community to be the 52nd Elected Emperor of the International Imperial Court of Long Beach.
Out side of his court life, Joey is a member of South Coast Chorale, a LGBTQIA2+ choir in Long Beach. He is currently an Assistant Manager for Starbucks, where he is a member of PRIDE partner network, and is in a committed relationship with his partner David.
